Different types of Reimold auctions?
An
On-site Auction.
The on-site auction is the most
widely known form of selling on the planet. Auctions dating back
to ancient Rome have been used as the primary
selling tool for all items of value. At Reimold Hort
we still believe it is the best way for a seller to recieve
top dollar for there merchandise. If you have enough plant material we can
schedule an on-site auction. That is an auction in which we advertise a
specific date and bring the auction staff to your place of business to
conduct the sale.That amount depends on the type of
material and equipment you need to sell.
We have conducted auctions with as little as 1000 plants
and as many as 3,000,000. The 1000 plants consisted of Tree material and
the3,000,000 was a little bit of everything including mature stock, real
estate, Liners, equipment, hoop houses and even the phone number of the past
business. Each situation is different and the choice to conduct the auction
ultimately depends on if you have enough material to draw a good nurserymen
crowd to create the bidding competition necessary to have a successful
auction.
A common misconception is that auctions are just for going
out of business... not true. We currently conduct 17 auctions annually for
different nurseries, year after year. This does not include 30-40
other auctions for all types of reasons. Nurseries and garden centers
are finding this to be a great form of income and also great promotion for
future business.

On-line Auction.
On line auctions are our newest way of
selling material. It works great. Armed With photos and all other important facts
we create an on-line auction arena specific to your inventory. Brochures are
produced and mailed to our normal auction list and buyers are invited to
inspect the material at the nursery. Photos, special terms, and other informations are all available on the Internet. On
the scheduled starting date the bidding arena is opened up and all
pre-qualified buyers are allowed to begin bidding. The bidding usually lasts
for about 7 days. The first lot ends at a specific time on the final day.
Each lot after that at least a minute apart depending on how many lots are in
the auction. The action is fun to watch at that point.
The on-line auctions are quickly becoming a real desirable way to
sell. especially specialized inventories or during
busy times of year. The fact is the system works well for the buyers and the
prices have been as strong if not stronger then some on-site auctions at
times.

auctions and to be faxed to our "Hot Fax List". This is a very
effective package and has been getting great response.

powerful mailing list of active buyers in the nursery industry from
all over North
America.
For your selling or buying project we can pull from this list and create a
mail out target list that best suits your situation. Keep in mind..these are active nursery
auction buyers.
For Example:
Lets say you have 5,000 Blue Spruce and Fraziers(In-Ground)
and you need to market these A.S.A.P. We could pull a list from all the
buyers from past auctions in which we had material similar to yours, plus
send out flyers to any buyer within 200,300,100 miles of your place of
business. This is extremely successful
To add this to your marketing plan you can figure an additional .75 a piece
to however many you would like to send.
Other print options include:
The Typical flyer is on 8 1/2" x 11" stock paper. If you would like
to invest in a color brochure or two-four color post card for your mailer we
can arrange that also. Color will cost an additional $800 at least, and the
post cards start around $400. The benefit is that buyers tend to pay more
attention to color and heavy stock plus tend to not throw them away as easy.
